 FAQs

  • Please ensure your outside water is turned on, the gate to the yard is unlocked and we access to the pool parts that were removed during the winterization process (pump plugs, filter plugs, etc.)

Also, if the breaker was shut off at your electrical panel over the winter, please have it back on before we arrive.

  • No.  We don't require anyone home to open the pool just as long as we have access to everything we need.

  • Pool cleaning is not part of the pool opening process.  If you cannot get your pool clean and clear after opening we highly recommend signing up for one of our pool maintenance packages for a minimum of 8 weeks which includes a free spring clean-up and all required chemicals.

  • A minimum of 1 Kg chlorine shock will be added to the pool and is included in the price of the opening.  Basic pool openings and safety cover pool openings include a 2 Kg shock treatment.

You will be responsible for balancing the pool water chemistry unless you also sign up for our pool maintenance service.

  • After testing all your equipment and priming your system, we will most likely leave your equipment turned off due to low water level.

Your responsibility will be to simply fill your pool to a minimum of halfway up the skimmer and turn on the pool pump.  If for some reason the pump will not prime or start, just give us a call and we will return to take care of this for you.  We recommend vacuuming the pool to waste and getting the pH and chlorine into ideal range as soon as possible.

  • The opening crew will inspect for leaks with the pump running full prime and attempt to tighten up and repair anything that is leaking within reason.

If a pipe is cracked, or a piece of equipment is broken, we will advise the homeowner and arrange a service call for a proper repair.  If you notice something leaking that we may have missed, contact us immediately so we can return and fix the problem for you.
